DESCRIPTION
…The Flood Advisory is extended for the following rivers in California…
Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.
.River gauge observations peaked at 21.45 feet just before midnight, Tuesday early morning. The latest (raw) observation of 1:45am is 21.09 feet with the trend falling. Deterministic forecast have the stage below Action/Monitor stage by noon Wednesday.
For the Mad River…including Arcata…elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…Mad River near Arcata.
* WHEN…Until Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 21.0 feet, Flooding of Mad River Beach Road. Water may be flowing over roads to Tyee City. Flooding will be enhanced if the time of the crest is coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 2:45 AM PST Tuesday the stage was 20.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to fall to 12.5 feet early Friday morning. - Action stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
