Small hail can quickly accumulate on roadways resulting in slippery conditions. Go easy on brakes and steering to avoid spin-outs.
DESCRIPTION
At 908 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong showers with gusty winds and small hail over the ocean and moving toward the shore at 20 mph. This is momentarily impact the coast from Petrolia to Trinidad and continue east over 101
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 30 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Hazardous conditions to motorists. Exercise caution when driving over small hail. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include… Eureka, Arcata, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Petrolia, McKinleyville, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Fernbridge, Loleta, Rohnerville, Hydesville, Humboldt Hill, Pine Hills, Bayview, Cutten, Capetown, Myrtletown, Freshwater and Arcata Arpt.
