INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, northeastern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 700 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 456 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.8 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Hoopa, Orleans, Willow Creek and Weitchpec. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
