INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, southwestern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 900 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 646 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This will cause small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Petrolia, Whitehorn, Ettersburg, Briceland and Capetown. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
