Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Southern Humboldt County in northwestern California… Northern Mendocino County in northwestern California… Southwestern Trinity County in northwestern California…

* Until 745 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 535 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated light rain continues to fall across the region. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Streams continue to rise and may exceed their banks. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Richardson Grove State Park, Garberville, Laytonville, Covelo, Shelter Cove, Honeydew, Alderpoint, Leggett, Richardson Grove, Ruth, Redway, Rockport, Whitehorn, Myers Flat, Weott, Petrolia, Zenia, Benbow, Fort Seward and Piercy. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
