You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following areas, Northern Humboldt Coast, Northern Humboldt Interior, Southern Humboldt Interior and Southwestern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 1 PM PST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS…There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - The frontal system has produced 2-4 inches of rain in the higher terrain and 1-2 inches in the lower elevations. Small streams are responding to this increase even as rain rates gradually diminish. - Some locations that may experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Honeydew, Garberville, Orick, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Orleans, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, Maple Creek, Bridgeville, Carlotta, Pepperwood, Scotia and McKinleyville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
