INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Excessive rainfall is ending with only slow receding of flooded areas

* WHERE…Areas around Cape Mendocino and the King Range…

* Until 200 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Flooded areas will be slow to recede

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1059 PM PST, Between 3 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Bridgeville, Weott, Myers Flat, Pepperwood, Dinsmore, Carlotta, Scotia, Alderpoint, Richardson Grove, Ferndale, Shively, Miranda, Blocksburg, Fort Seward and Hydesville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
