Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Excessive rainfall has ended with flooded areas slowly receding

* WHERE…Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* Until 200 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1107 PM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooded areas will be slow to recede - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Petrolia, Redway, Bull Creek, Ettersburg, Briceland and Capetown. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
