INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…
* Until 745 AM PST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 144 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.7 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches with up to 0.6 inch per hour rainfall rates are expected over the area. This additional heavy rainfall will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Petrolia, Whitehorn, Ettersburg and Briceland. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
