Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.
DESCRIPTION
At 441 AM PST, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers extending from 21 miles west of Eureka to 6 miles west of Shelter Cove, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD…Waterspouts and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include… Eureka, Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Pepperwood, Scotia, Carlotta, Weott, Myers Flat, Petrolia, Redway, McKinleyville, Ferndale, Bull Creek, Shively, Hydesville and Rohnerville.
