INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Eastern Humboldt County in northwestern California… Southwestern Trinity County in northwestern California…
* Until 245 PM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1149 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Willow Creek, Hoopa, Dinsmore, Hyampom, Ruth, Burnt Ranch, Alderpoint, Salyer, Richardson Grove, Weitchpec, Blocksburg, Fort Seward and Zenia. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
