INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* Until 800 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 240 PM PST, automated rain gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honeydew, Garberville, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Weott, Pepperwood, Myers Flat, Scotia, Petrolia, Bridgeville, Redway, Whitehorn, Ferndale, Bull Creek, Shively, Ettersburg, Miranda, Hydesville, Briceland and Rohnerville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
