INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…West Central Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* Until 1000 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 417 PM PST, stream gauges and law enforcement reports indicate minor flooding is occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen today. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are expected over the area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include…Jacoby Creek, Elk River, Hookton Slough, and other low-lying areas around Humboldt Bay. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
