INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…West Central Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* Until 400 AM PST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 947 PM PST, stream gauges and reports indicate minor flooding is occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen today. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional significant rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include…Jacoby Creek, Elk River, Hookton Slough, and other low-lying areas around Humboldt Bay. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
