Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing widespread damaging winds.

Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure.

The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for… Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* Until 1115 AM PST.

* At 1040 AM PST, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of Petrolia, or 11 miles southwest of Honeydew, moving north at 55 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and small hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include… Honeydew and Petrolia.
