INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Heavy and unusually high tides
* WHERE…West Central Humboldt County in northwestern California…
* Until 600 PM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 818 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Fortuna, Carlotta, McKinleyville, Ferndale, Pine Hills, Humboldt Hill, Cutten, Fernbridge, Bayview, Loleta, Myrtletown, Freshwater, Rohnerville, Hydesville and Samoa. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
