INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California and around Cape Mendocino…

* Until 600 PM PST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1034 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
