INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Drive with extra caution. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban areas and small streams flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Northwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…

* WHEN…Until 130 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 102 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated areas of moderate rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Mainly rural areas of Northwestern Humboldt County. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
