INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…Northwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California…
* WHEN…Until 900 PM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing at poor drainage areas and ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 654 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain occurred. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Orick, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Carlotta, Scotia, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Freshwater, Samoa, Fairhaven, Pine Hills, Arcata Arpt and Fieldbrook. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
