A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
DESCRIPTION
The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from late Thursday night through Friday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Northern Trinity and Humboldt Counties including fire weather zones 403, 406, 409, and 410.
* THUNDERSTORMS…Isolated, mostly dry thunderstorms may form over the higher terrain of northern Humboldt and Trinity counties as early as Friday morning with storms more likely with wider coverage Friday afternoon and evening.
* OUTFLOW WINDS…Storms could produce gusty and erratic outflow winds up to 40 mph.
* IMPACTS…Thunderstorms may ignite new fires with dry fuels and in difficult to access locations. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
