Everyone’s been pretty much riveted to the story of the long-term Ingomar Club employee who is suing the county’s chi-chi private club for sexual harassment. As Matt Drange reported a couple of weeks ago, the suit — brought by Ingomar Event Coordinator Jennifer Partsafas against the club and a former manager, who allegedly promised to “hunt and mount” his victim — has riven the Humboldt County richie-rich class’s home away from home. Members have resigned and staff have been given mandatory furloughs.

Now, news that’s surely going to cause even more trouble: Partsafas was fired on Friday. Her attorney issued a press release today that pretty much called bullshit on the official reasons for her termination and promises to exact revenge in court.

Ms. Partsafas believes her termination is retaliaition for bringing her original claim against the assistant manager and her subsequent claims of a hostile work environment. Prior to her termination, Ms. Partsafas had been an exemplary employee, with seven-and-a-half years of devoted service to the Ingomar Club with no history of prior discipline or reprimand.
