Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

On 04-17-2012, approximately 1:00 p.m. deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office were asked to assist the United States Marshals Office and a California State Parole Agent with locating a wanted Parolee-at-Large Ernie Leland Marshall, 50 years old from Hoopa. The officers responded to a residence on Tish Tang Road, Hoopa.

When the officers entered the residence they located Marshall in a rear bedroom, along with the property owner Francine Lewis, 56 years old from Hoopa. The officers saw a rifle in plain sight when they were in the bedroom. Lewis claimed responsibility for the rifle. A records check of the rifle revealed it was reported stolen. Lewis was arrested for possession of stolen property and Marshall was arrested for being a wanted Parolee. Both were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked. Lewis was booked and released. Marshall was held without bail for a parole violation.
