Press Release:
Caltrans announced today that a public open house for the Broadway Engineered Feasibility Study will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building, 1 Marina Way in Eureka. The drop-in style open house will look at possible improvements to Broadway along the three mile stretch of Route 101 between Kmart and the division of 4th and 5th Streets. There will be a brief formal presentation at 4:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. in addition to an opportunity for the public to review displays, ask questions of Caltrans staff, and make comments and suggestions.
The engineered feasibility study will identify and evaluate safety, operational, and mobility improvements for all modes of transportation along the Broadway corridor. In the future, the study will be used as a reference document identifying potential improvement projects, enabling Caltrans to respond to and compete for various project funding sources as they become available.
