Humboldt Co. Sheriff’s Press Release:
On 06-6-2012, approximately 1:30 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office Community Response Unit (C.R.U.) assisted by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, executed a Humboldt County Superior Court Search Warrant on an apartment in the 3900 block of Cedar Street, Eureka after a three month investigation, initiated by a tip to the C.R.U.
When deputies served the search warrant on the apartment, they discovered a sophisticated growing operation with over 1,400 growing marijuana plants ranging in size from three inches to three feet, along with approximately $1000.00 in cash. Deputies arrested Nicole Carolynn Jackman, 25 years old the occupant of the apartment for cultivation of marijuana and possession for sale of marijuana. She was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where she was booked and released.
While serving the search warrant at Jackman’s residence, one of the Drug Task Force Agents noticed the neighboring apartment also appeared to be growing marijuana. A search warrant was obtained for that residence by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force and 131 growing marijuana plants were located in the residence ranging from two feet to three feet in height. Agents located approximately 2 pounds of processed marijuana, over $10,000.00 in cash, along with paperwork indicating the marijuana was being sold. The occupant, William Morgan Bell, 34 years old, claimed he was growing the marijuana for medical reasons. Bell was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $25,000.00.
The Humboldt County Building Department was notified and responded, along with Pacific Gas and Electric. It was determined the electrical systems were unsafe and the meters were removed.
