UPDATE, 9:51 a.m.: OK, now it has started.

UPDATE, 9:35 a.m.: It has started. (False alarm.)

Later this morning the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will almost certainly takes steps to evict Occupy Eureka from the Fifth Street entrance to the county courthouse, a location the group has held since the fall. (Or the group proper and its mentally unstable hangers-on, depending on how you want to look at it.)

Watch along at this link if you like. We’ll update this post and tweet when the item is brought to the floor.

County staff is proposing a number of revisions to local ordinances aimed at booting the group, including banning people from courthouse property during the nighttime hours unless they’re there on business. The staff attaches over 100 pages of citizen complaints and police papers to their report — download it here — documenting violence, verbal abuse and plein air defecation galore.

Possibly newsworthy: It seems that the EPD is/was sending daily briefings on the Occupation to city and county officials.
