Apparently someone bringing marijuana to California (isn’t that an equivalent maxim to bringing coals to Newcastle?) dumped four tons into the ocean near Orange County. The 160 bales were found floating yesterday near Dana Point. There were approximately 7263 pounds according to Time magazine’s news feed which values the sea “weed” at around $3.6 million.

Oddly enough, there is no apparent reason for the dumping which usually occurs when smugglers are intercepted by authorities.
