From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 05-05-12, approximately 1:45 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a stabbing victim at Redwood Memorial Hospital. When the deputy arrived he met with the 22 -year-old male victim from Loleta. The victim was being treated for a deep stab wound in his chest area and a smaller laceration to his arm.

The victim told the deputy he was wrestling with his father, Floyd Monroe Bowen, 46 years old at their residence in Loleta, when his father stabbed him with a broken beer bottle in the chest. His father, Floyd Bowen, was also being treated at the hospital at the same time for scratches to his face and complaint of pain to his throat area. After Floyd Bowen was treated and released, he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. His bail is set at $50,000.00
