Because if you have, they are false.

Friend of the LoCO Eric Kirk writes:

I was delivered a rumor that the counting is done and that Bonino pulled out a win by 150 votes. But I haven’t found anything to support the rumor. The final report isn’t posted, and I’m not seeing any sign of the rumor on the blogs. Have you heard anything?

A quick call to Humboldt County Registrar of Voters Carolyn Crnich puts paid to this. “Not another vote has been counted,” she told the Lost Coast Outpost this morning. The election night total still stands for the moment — Atkins, the incumbent, has 208 votes on Bonino, leading 50.75 to 48.07 percent.

Crinich expects that an updated (but still not final) total to be released either just before or just after Thanksgiving. The new total will include the uncounted vote-by-mail ballots currently sitting in the elections office. That will leave only the 2,500 or so provisional ballots cast on election day to be tallied.

Nothing is certain in this world, of course, but if historical trends hold true in this election, look for Atkins to not only hold on to her lead but expand it in these updated counts.
