Humboldt CO. Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On 09-04-2012, approximately 9:00 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office responded to the Pacific Gas and Electric (P.G.& E.) substation at Big Lagoon regarding a burglary. When the deputy arrived he learned that unknown suspect(s) had cut a Green Diamond gate to drive onto Green Diamond property which allowed the suspect(s) access the P.G. & E. substation. The suspect(s) cut a locked gate allowing the suspect(s) to enter the substation. After entering into the fenced in property, the suspect(s) forced open several doors into the building and stole various tools from in and outside the buildings.

The tools belong to a P.G. & E subcontracting company called I.T.R. The representative from I.T.R. told the deputy many of the tools have the company logo I.T.R. stamped on them. The company representative is currently inventorying the loss, however estimated the loss to be close to $300,000.00 at this time.

The investigating deputy was able to determine the theft occurred between 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 and 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 3rd, 2012. I.T.R. representatives did not learn of the theft until 9:00 am this morning due to the three day holiday.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting all recycle facilities and pawn shops watch for the stolen property to possibly show up.
