Arcata Police Dept. Press Release:
On Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm., the Arcata Police Department will host a Public Safety Fair. The event will take place at the Arcata Police Department located at 736 F Street next to the Crab’s Baseball Park. Exciting events planned for the event include:
- Department facility tours
- Equipment/vehicle displays including the APD Mobile Command Vehicle & antique APD police car
- Police K-9 meet and greet with “Zari” and “Bronco” with live demonstrations
- APD Park Ranger visit
- Free BBQ hotdogs with all the fixings
- Certified Child Safety Seat Inspections
- Free bicycle licensing
- Free kids raffle for “cop toy”
- Volunteer information/Neighborhood Watch
- Cops N’ Kids literacy program book give away and story time
- Dunk a Cop/City Council member dunk booth
Chief of Police Tom Chapman is excited to open the doors of A.P.D. and welcome the citizens that the police department humbly serves and protects. The Arcata Police Department is fortunate to have such a wonderful and supportive community and we are excited to show our appreciation.
A special thank you is extended to the Rotary Club of Arcata for their generous donation for the event and for volunteering to assist with the cooking. Also, appreciation is extending to Quota International of Eureka for their continued support and generosity to the Arcata Police Department with the Cops N’ Kids literacy program.
