On 08.14.13 detectives from the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) served a search warrant at the 1400 block of East Avenue, in Eureka. The search warrant was obtained as the result of an unrelated neighborhood complaint, which led detectives to a possible indoor marijuana grow at this location.
During the service of the warrant, detectives located and seized 384 marijuana plants growing both indoors and out. Additionally 15 opium poppy plants were located and seized. Two subjects on scene at the time were interviewed and released.
No arrests have been made at this time, but this in an ongoing investigation.
