From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 08-19-2013 at about 10:00 am the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a parcel of property located in the 18000 block of highway 36, Bridgeville. Officers located a commercial marijuana growing operation on the property. Officers seized 300 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 4 foot to 10 feet. Officers seized 3 pistols from the residence on the property. Officers arrested two suspects at the scene who were identified as: Ryan D. Weston age 30 and a Jesse L. Cook age 32. Weston was arrested for cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales and for being armed in commission of a felony. Cook was arrested for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.
At about 1:00 pm when officers were preparing to leave the property a third suspect named, Rye P. Hoine age 31, who is the property owner drove up to the property. Hoine was arrested for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.
Weston, Cook and Hoine were all three transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and their bail was set at $75,000.
When officers were on scene in Bridgeville they located information that Rye Hoine owned a residence located in the 1000 block of Kirkwood Court in McKinleyville. A second search warrant was written for that residence.
At about 4:00 pm a search warrant was signed for the Kirkwood Court residence by a Humboldt County Superior Court Judge. When officers served the search warrant they located John Hoine age 63 at the residence. John Hoine is Rye Hoine’s father.
Officers located a commercial indoor marijuana growing operation in the residence. Officers seized 186 growing marijuana plants that ranged in height from 2 feet to 3 feet. Officers seized $6,000 dollars in cash for possible asset forfeiture.
John Hoine was cited and released at the scene for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.
This case remains under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
