The Field Poll just released the results of a recent survey of California voters on the question of the State of Jefferson Independence Movement, whose recent surge has been halfheartedly chronicled in these pages.
The poll took the pulse of 1,002 California citizens. The good news: On the Jefferson question, Californians have finally found something they can agree upon.
- Democrats: Don’t want it.
- Republicans: Don’t want it.
- Independents and third party voters: Don’t want it.
- Coastal counties: Don’t want it.
- Inland counties: Don’t want it.
- Los Angeles: Doesn’t want it.
- Southern California: Doesn’t want it.
- Central Valley: Doesn’t want it.
- Bay Area: Doesn’t want it.
- Other Northern California: Hasn’t quite made up its mind, but leans toward doesn’t want it.
Overall: 59 percent of California voters don’t want it. 25 percent do want it. 19 percent don’t know or care.
