Several readers described an explosion happening close to 11 P.M. Saturday night in Eureka. Another of the mysterious booms that have shaken Humboldt County for the last few months apparently struck again.
“KERPOW!!!,” wrote Debra Lawton on LoCO’s Facebook page. Then followed with a description:”white flash of light, several seconds then massive boom, Cooper Gulch, sounded like it came from south 7th Street.”
Amy Hagan related how she had heard a “weird crackling noise” following the boom.
At least one reader apparently heard a boom in Fortuna tonight. So, readers, what did you hear?
