During a three day operation the week of July 15, 2013, the Trinity County Narcotics Task Force, United States Forest Service (USFS), Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP) and North State Marijuana Investigation Team (NSMIT) conducted a series of marijuana eradication operations on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. A total of five Hispanic drug trade origination marijuana complexes were raided yielding a total of 74,616 growing marijuana plants that were eradicated. No arrests were made. Reclamation of the living quarters, water lines and chemicals were conducted returning the forest to its natural state.
According to a spokesperson for the TSO, there are no photos available at this time. When asked how the operations were identified as Hispanic, the spokesperson wrote, “They can usually identify what type of marijuana garden it is by what is left behind at the camps or by previous surveillance.”
