Trinity County Sheriff Press Release:
One June 5th and 6th a two-day marijuana eradication operation was conducted in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Trinity County. Two marijuana cultivation complexes were raided over the course of those two days.
On the 5th, a Mexican national was caught attempting to flee the cultivation complex. Officers eradicated 28,857 grown marijuana plants from the complex. The Mexican national was transported to the Trinity County Jail, where he was booked.
On June 6th, officers entered into a separate complex and contacted two Mexican nationals while they were in their camp. They were taken into custody. They were transported to the Trinity County Jail, where they were booked on various charges.
Officers with the above-mentioned agencies then eradicated 9,167 growing marijuana plants. In both complexes, camps and intricate trail systems were located, leading officers to believe that the subjects had been in the area setting up the complexes for many months.
