A 41-year-old man was sent to the hospital this morning after being struck by a car on the 1600 block of J Street in Eureka about an hour ago. Officer Gary Whitmer of the Eureka Police Department said that the cyclist had no brakes, and rode out into the street from between two parked cars when he was struck. Whitmer said that the man’s leg may be broken.

Witnesses tell the Lost Coast Outpost that the vehicle was a white SUV.
