Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
0n 11-6-2013, approximately 2:30 a.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol stopped a gold Toyota Camry for a traffic violation on Pickett Road near Central Avenue, McKinleyville. When the deputy contacted the driver identified as Anthony George Miller, 46 years old from McKinleyville, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He asked Miller about the smell and Miller told the deputy he had approximately one pound of marijuana in the trunk. Miller and his passenger, identified as Jaime Ruth Rogers, 36 years old from Eureka were detained. A driver’s license check on Miller revealed he was driving with a suspended license. A search of the vehicle’s trunk was conducted and the deputy located a blue plastic tub. Inside the tub were several large bags of marijuana and loose marijuana in the tub, and a scale. The marijuana was later weighed and was approximately 1.5 pounds .When the deputy searched the interior of the vehicle, he located suspected methamphetamine. The methamphetamine was later weighed and determined to be approximately 1.5 grams.
Miller was arrested for possession of an illicit drug, transportation of an illicit drug, driving on a suspended license and possession of over an ounce of marijuana. Rogers was arrested on four outstanding misdemeanor warrants for drug, theft and weapons charges. Millers bail was set at $50,000.00. Rogers was booked and released on her arrest warrants.
