Time to take a moment and appreciate the place we live. Here, we sometimes get to see nature up close and very real.  LoCO reader Tawny Morse sent us some photos of one of those fall-in-love-with-Humboldt-all-over-again events. 

She and her boyfriend were walking on the river bar at Ferndale when they saw a seal chasing a salmon. She said her camera had no zoom. The seal “literally chased it to our feet.”

Good day for the seal.  Bad day for the fish.
