Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On 09-04-2013, approximately 9: 00 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Cannabis Eradication and Reclamation Team (C.E.R.T) conducted an open field marijuana cultivation investigation in the Lacks Creek area of Redwood Valley. The marijuana grow was being grown adjacent to U.S. Bureau of Land Management property, however the grow was located on timber company property. Deputies located and removed 4,845 growing marijuana plants ranging in size from 5’ to 7’ tall, all in the budding stage of growth. Rodenticides, insecticides and environmental damage were witnessed at the site which included thinning and removal of trees and brush.

No suspects were located and the investigation is ongoing.
