Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Press Release:
On 09-05-2013, approximately 12:00 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Cal Fire and Hoopa Tribal Police responded to timber company property in the Titlow Hill area after receiving a report of a trespass and marijuana cultivation occurring. When officers arrived on scene they located ninety eight growing marijuana plants ranging in size from 4’ to 6’ in height, all budding. They also located two 2,500 gallon water tanks being fed water from a nearby stream along with a water pump. Officers found evidence of illegal timber harvesting with several large fir trees being cut down and stream diversion. California Fish and Wildlife was notified and responded to assist in the ongoing investigation. No suspects were located on site. The investigation is ongoing.
