Steelhead Extra Pale Ale, Mad River Brewery’s flagship brewski, landed a bronze medal in this year’s World Beer Cup, the self-appointed “Most Prestigious Beer Competition in the World.”

This “bright golden-hued ale .. with a spicy floral hop character” took third place among 67 entries in the “Golden or Blonde Ale” category. It can add the bronze medal to the other one it took home two years ago in the same category.

Not only is this an honor for Humboldt’s 25-year-old Blue Lake brewery; it’s also scientific proof that LoCO readers have impeccable palates and discerning taste, since you all picked MRB as the “Humboldt Approved” winner last fall.
