Cue the trumpet fanfare and thundering timpani: The Arkley Center for Performing Arts, which closed down last year for maintenance and repairs, will reopen this fall, according to this press release we just received.
Eureka Symphony executive director Jane Hill announced today that the orchestra will return to the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts for its 2014-2015 Season commencing in October. “We have been in discussion for several months,” Hill said, “and are pleased that we have been able to come to an agreement.”
Symphony Board, Staff and Musicians are Excited
“We are grateful to the Arkleys for making this possible,” Hill said. “It is a very generous arrangement that brings us back to a historic venue that was responsible for much of the orchestra’s growth in the previous five seasons.”
Music Director Carol Jacobson expressed enthusiasm about the news. “The musicians and I are excited about this return. A venue like the Arkley is appreciated by audiences and players alike. Eureka is lucky to have such a facility.”
Season will be Announced in May
Programming and ticket packages for the 2014-15 Season will be announced in mid-May.
