As with the multiple power outages currently affecting the county, it ain’t easy to stay up-to-the-minute on road closures. Here’s what we have as of 9 a.m., from the Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services and the CHP.

From the California Highway Patrol:
5:10 am: The westbound lane of State Route 299 at mile marker 34.90 is blocked due to a slide. Caltrans is on-scene clearing the roadway. One-way controlled traffic is currently in effect for eastbound and westbound traffic.
6:35 am: State Route 36 at mile marker 21.88 is completely blocked due to a downed tree. A CHP unit is at the scene coordinating the tree removal.
7:43 am: The 8500 block of Centerville Road (4-5 miles south of Ferndale) is completely blocked due to a downed power pole and arcing power lines. Calfire and Humboldt County Roads units are at the scene standing by for PG&E.
8:13 am: The 7200 block of Berta Road is completely blocked due to a downed tree. Humboldt County Roads is in route.
