PREVIOUSLY: Hwy 101 Closed Near Benbow

I just spoke with Eli Rohl, Caltrans Public Information Officer about the rock slide which has closed highway 101 in both directions between Benbow Lake Drive and Cooks Valley. Eli says they expect to open one side of the highway by early afternoon to allow limited travel in both directions. The long delay is due to very large boulders that need to be moved and the deployment of K Barriers to prevent further intrusions of debris if the slide continues.
