After eight years serving Thai, Lao and Vietnamese food in the unlikely maroon log cabin at Fourth and L streets in Eureka, Hue Southeast Asian Cuisine will be closing its doors at the end of the month.
In an email to the Outpost, Malina Syvoravong said that when her family opened the business in 2006, competition was scarce when it came to southeast Asian cuisine. Now it’s abundant, with Pho Thien Long, Mekong Cafe, Pho Lan Phuong and the new Siam Orchid all within a mile of Hue.
That, combined with personal family reasons, is responsible for the family’s decision, Syvoravong said.
So if you have a favorite item on the Hue menu — or if you’ve always wanted to try it but never got around to it — you’ve got a few more weeks to get in there, after which the family will be selling all appliances.
