I sent her in her applications. I think it is going to take awhile. She sent in July. I emailed the Ellen De Show. I hoped that someone could grab her attenetion.
I thought I would try.
The pictures don’t do her justice .
She’s old.
I grew up in Ferndale. I graduated and went off to Cal Poly. She is a registered Brown Swiss Heifer. Gonzo’s a heifer in order to be a cow you have to have a calf.
Technically she is sstill a heifer.
I grew up around cows my whole life. When Gonzo was born she was huge. She was so large as a calf we checked three different times to make sure she was a female. We actually showed her. People thought we were cheating because she was so big. She was second at western national as a yearling.
She has all of her parts her ovaries. Something went wrong in her somewhere for her to get so huge. Most dairyman wouldn’t have kept her. She was pretty incredible as a young heifer. We always kept her she has lived a pretty good life. She has a hard time in a regular setup. She can’t manuver around.
She was in Oregon born and raise. My parents got divorced so we lost our family farm. My uncle is willing to take her. He is taking care of her for us until her times up.
Tom Losa, Ferndale area. Gonzo
10 years old.
March 25th Almost 11. Average life is 5 years. She’s not your regular dairy cow. Gonzo is literally a full breed dairy cow. Dairymen can not believe it all the time. She is so gentle a big baby. She is unreal she is so cool I really miss seeing her every day. It is amazing how many visitors she’s had. It is incredible to stand next.
Her half sister was reserve grand champion at world dairy expo in 2009 and 2010.She is from a great family of show cows. She just happens to be a freak. Jodi
She was measured her years ago. Last time we measured her 5 years ago. My cousin is 6 6 he plays basketball. Unofficially she is 80” tall. That puts her four inches taller than blossom that is a huge gap.
It is a waiting game. If she doesn’t get in I know she is incredible. Something you only see once in a life time.
