Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release: 

On 04-15-2015, at approximately 12:10 p.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant was patrolling in the 900 block of Redwood Drive, Garberville. The Sergeant observed a bicyclist, Michael Anthony Wade (age 25), enter the parking lot of the Lone Pine Motel, 912 Redwood Drive.  The Sergeant recognized Wade from prior law enforcement contacts and knows that Wade is a local probationer with a search and seizure clause.

The Sergeant conducted a probation search of Wade and located approximately 10 grams of suspected heroin on Wade’s person.  It was also determined that Wade was renting a room at the motel and a search of the room was conducted.  Inside the motel room additional drug paraphernalia was found.

Wade was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation   Wade’s bail was set at $50,000.
