UPDATE, 7:00 a.m.: Evie Gaskell has been found, her daughter-in-law tells the Outpost. She spent the night in a field near Eureka High, and may require medical attention, but she is alive. We’ll have a further update later today.

UPDATE, FRIDAY, 6:45 a.m.: From the Eureka Police Department:

On 04-16-2015 at about 8:25 pm, an officer of the Eureka Police Department was dispatched to contact a family member, regarding a missing person report.

Upon arrival the officer was advised that Dorris Evelyn “Evie” Gaskell had walked away from her home at about 2:00 pm that afternoon.  Officers checked with Evie’s neighbors and searched the surrounding area, but Evie was not located. The Eureka Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating her.

Evie is described as a 79-year-old woman, approximately 5-4”, 128 lbs, with short grey hair and brown eyes. She may also be wearing glasses. Evie is believed to be wearing white tennis shoes, a long shirt, and pants.
If anyone has information where Evie may be located, they are urged to contact the Eureka Police Department at 707-441-4044.

Evelyn “Evie” Gaskell, an 80-year-old Eureka woman, wandered off from her home in the Carson Park neighborhood this afternoon. Her family is hoping someone may have seen her today, or may know where she is now.

Gaskell has short hair and may be wearing glasses. She speaks with a British accent. She is believe to be wearing bright white sneakers, a long T-shirt, pants and no jacket. She requires regular seizure medication, which she has not taken in some time.
