As dusk has fallen, numerous LoCOists in the north county have written to report strange lights and smoke in the hills to their northeast.

Unless we are very much mistaken, the light is from Green Diamond controlled burns in the Crannell area. The company sent us the following this morning:

Green Diamond Resource Company will be burning up on the top of the CR 1000 and CR 2000 roads. This is the east edge of Little River and Maple Creek drainages.

Smoke may be visible from the coast.
